Kevin Kirkpatrick is a highly experienced and accomplished professional in the Human Resources industry, with over two decades of experience in the field. Kevin's career began in 1999 when he was responsible for hiring 30 technical staff per week for a service provider to Rogers Telecom. He went on to hire technical consultants and regulated professionals across Canada and the United States.
At this time, Kevin joined Peterborough Regional Health Centre as the first-ever recruiter they hired. As such, he developed the role and expanded it to include recruiting physicians and executives and creating an entire workforce development plan for the hospital. During his tenure, the hospital grew from 340 beds to over 400, and Kevin played a pivotal role in ensuring they had the staff they needed.
In 2008, Kevin founded Avery Professional Group, which initially focused on recruiting and evolved into consulting around human resources, specifically linked to the employee experience. In 2012, Kevin joined St Michael's Hospital, where he reviewed their staffing, policies, and practices to address internal client discontent. He worked on staff training, reporting, and relationship building to improve the relationship between the recruiters and internal hiring managers. Kevin's efforts resulted in a service-level agreement that targeted the hospital's operational needs.
In 2018, Kevin was hired by Humber River Hospital to grow and adapt the recruiting function for the 700-bed hospital. This included recruiter development, workforce planning with professional practice, branding, social media, reporting, and executive search. Kevin's work led to significant improvements in the recruiting function.
Kevin is a highly sought-after consultant, working with six to eight hospitals at any time to recruit physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and executives across Canada and the United States. He has had recent successes in hiring clinical physicians, physicians and leaders and working with a group to redesign a hospitalist department and recruit their chief hospitalist.
